In the first week of the new year, two grant agreements have been signed and co-financing of water-utility infrastructure improvement projects, the agglomeration of Nin-Privlaka-Vrsi and Velika Gorica. Project “Wastewater Treatment and System of Aglomeration Velika Gorica” totaled HRK 498.5 million, of which HRK 268.7 million, or 67.4%, refers to non-refundable EU funds through the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Cohesion”. This project will build up 124 km of new water pipes by 2022 and will reconstruct a 20.6 km sewerage network, build 39 new pumping stations and reconstruct and upgrade 9 wastewater treatment plants. Mayor of Velika Gorica Drazen Barisic said that it is one of the largest construction, financial and utility projects in the history of Velika Gorica.
At the same time, a project to improve the water-communal infrastructure of the Nin-Privlaka-Vrsi agglomeration will be implemented, worth HRK 397.2 million, of which 70.8% (HRK 224.9 million) co-finances with non-refundable EU funds. The project will result in over 102 km of new sewerage network and 34 pumping stations, built wastewater treatment plant, rehabilitated water supply network in the length of 31.8 km and procure equipment for maintenance of sewerage system. “Agglomeration Nin-Privlaka-Vrsi is one of the largest agglomerations in Croatia. This project represents a major step forward, it will increase the connection to the public wastewater system at 83%, said Minister Coric during signing ceremony. Zadar County Prefect Bozidar Longin pointed out the importance of the tourism for this region for which development a proper infrastructure is important prerequisite.
